Summary Establishment of a network of fusion centers to facilitate effective nationwide information sharing is a top priority that requires close collaboration among local, state, and federal partners. To facilitate the development of a national fusion center capability, DHS/FEMA\NPD and CHDS/NPS have partnered to develop the Fusion Center Leaders Course. This program has been developed in partnership with the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), who has provided funds for the course curriculum development. The work further supports coordination with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI); the Office of the Program Manager, Information Sharing Environment (PM-ISE); the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); and experts from the state and local community-including the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global), the Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council (CICC), and the Global Intelligence Working Group (GIWG). DHS and CHDS, in coordination with the previously mentioned partners, are supporting the development and implementation of the Center for Homeland Defense and Security's curricula and courses. These curricula and courses will directly support the enhancement of the national network of fusion centers by ensuring that the leadership of these centers has the appropriate baseline level of knowledge.
