Summary | The collaboration between NPS and HII will provide unique insight in to current submarine operations and the future requirements and capabilities of the submarine force. NPS faculty and students and HII subject matter experts will conduct a series of Concept of Operations studies of interest to Huntington Ingalls Incorporated, Naval Postgraduate School, and the U.S. Navy Undersea Enterprise (USE) at large. The results of these research projects will be documented in research publications and Masters Theses. Initial research project will explore the use of unmanned vehicles to monitor the activity and track underwater interests such as marine mammals. The research results will inform the Navy's methods for detecting and tracking targets. Project details are described in Appendix A. |
