Summary	The Combat Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) certificate program was developed at the specific request of the CSS&E Curricular sponsor, RDML Jon Hill, PEO-IWS. He recognized the ability and value of the NPS Physics Department to present cutting-edge technology and the theoretical foundation for its development to civilian program managers within NAVSEA PEO-IWS. Since this group of personnel is tasked with acquisition and identification of future combat systems technologies, such a certificate would provide them with a better foundation for decision-making.
