The delivery format combines informative presentations on academic themes and practical frameworks with an in-depth self assessment of security threats, roles and missions, and inter-agency decision making for the Gambia. The underlying theme of the course is the need for military officers and civilian officials to develop habits of cooperation within an inter-agency decision-making process. The importance of developing effective civilian control of military forces is emphasized in each iteration of this course.
