Summary | The goal of this research is to develop a portable, solid-state device capable of interrogating a computer system for intelligence gathering. The ideal implementation will be a bootable USB key, which will launch the developed exploitation package. The required technologies for this research project include open source Linux "live" distributions as well as existing Windows and Linux-based forensic tools. We also intend to include the capability to exploit running Windows-based systems with the same USB key. The desired end state is for personnel in the field to have the capability to quickly gather time-sensitive intelligence with minimal computer and forensic expertise. |
