Summary | The proposed project, in consultation and collaboration with NAVAIR and industry, will investigate the requirements and challenges for interim flight clearance preparation and issuance for Naval Postgraduate unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operations, where it is understood that Restricted and Developmental category UAS are utilized but it would be desirable to transit the National Air Space (NAS) under limited and strictly controlled conditions. This severe test case will be used to flush out the critical issues impeding and preventing UAS IFC preparation and approval. These issues will then be addressed by studying, selecting, applying and assessing promising and innovative approaches and methods. This topic addresses issues and concerns relevant to NAVAIR UAS developmental flight test and in endorsed and supported by PEO(U&W) Systems Engineering and System Safety. |
