Summary | The Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) Assault Breaching System (JABS) has been proved effective to clear mines and light obstacles on beach and surf zones as well as in very shallow water (VSW, depth up to 40 ft.) through the Stand-off Assault Breaching Weapon Fuse Improvement (SOABWFI) program. The Navy and Marine Corps need the capability to rapidly clear mines in shallow water (SW, depth: 40-200 ft.) and deep water (DW, depth over 200 ft.) zone regions to permit rapid, effective, transition from the sea to land. To support the rapid clearance of large areas of mines, a 3D underwater bomb trajectory model (STRIKE35) has been developed to predict the underwater bomb trajectory. The objective of this proposal is to implement STRIKE35 into tactical decision aid through the expert system for operational use. |
