Summary | The objective of this continuing research is to evaluate novel, previously developed precision geolocation techniques in field scenarios and consider the suitability for CubeSat implementation. These novel techniques do not require signal measurements but are based on control messages used by 4G basestations and subscribers. This approach leverages prior knowledge of mobile phone geolocation techniques with new knowledge of the 4G signals. It also leverages NPS' existing partnership with SRI's CubeSat program. Validation will be conducted through actual field testing at Yuma Proving Ground and on public networks as appropriate. |
