Summary |
In an effort to improve capabilities to monitor environmental changes associated with climate from space, NASA has been actively developing new sensors for satellites. Before launch to space these sensors must go thorough calibration and validation processes, a part of which is performed aboard aircraft. C-Harrier is designed for such a test of a suite of novel radiometers intended to monitor lakes and oceans from space. Similar collaboration between NASA and NPS has been undertaken before aboard the instrumented NPS Twin Otter research aircraft, which has proven to be the most desirable platform for it. |
