Summary	The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Systems Engineering Department (SE) will provide systems architecture and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) research and education development for the Forward Deployed Energy and Communications Outpost (FDECO) innovative Naval Prototype (JNP), for the Office of Naval Research (ONR), in conjunction with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport RI, and SPAWAR System Center Pacific, San Diego, CA. The study will define and use MBSE including methods and tools, in conjunction with systems engineering processes to define and develop the architectural framework for the FDECO IMP. This research will also support master and doctoral systems as researchers under the supervision of a NPS SE faculty member.
