Summary | The goal of the proposal is to build and test a device/sensor that could be used for the measurement of molten metal flow rates. The device should be accurate and robust and be calibrated against a standard reference. The work will be carried out in two phases - one with a low melting metallic eutectic to demonstrate proof of concept, and then with a higher melting point material with the eventual objective of being able to demonstrate operation at close to 1000 deg C temperatures. |
