Summary In response to SOUTHCOM’s request for assistance with a train-the-trainer program to enhance GPOI SOUTHCOM AOR partner country military UN Peacekeepers' understanding of and compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 1325, as well as learn best practices and way forward with inclusion of women in peace and security, NPS faculty co-developed a course of instruction (COI) regarding Women, Peace and Security with SOUTHOM AOR schoolhouses. This proposal is for follow-on work to integrate the successfully developed curricula into additional GPOI partner country schoolhouses.
Leveraging South-South relationships and working together with SOUTHCOM, NPS faculty will meet to review previously developed curricula and plan for FY18 engagements between GPOI partner countries. This curriculum will be taught by GPOI partner nation faculty with assistance from NPS faculty and integrated into partner nation schoolhouses. This is follow-on work connected to previously executed WPS Phase 2 programs and in direct support of WPS Phase 3 initiatives. The potential to write a case study or article will also be explored.
