Summary This research will explore, via simulation, the potential value of and associated CONOPS for a critical aspect of distributed warfare-Navy Integrated Fire Control-Counter Air (NIFC-CA). This will be a step towards being able to better simulate and analyze broader Navy distributed lethality (DL) issues. The modeling environment used will be the Navy Surface Warfare Center's (NSWC's) Orchestrated Simulation for Modeling (OSM). NPS and NSWC have previously partnered to use OSM to develop tactics for using high-energy lasers against swarming unmanned aerial vehicles, assessing war plans, and exploring surface force distributed lethality (this is ongoing). We will use data farming methods to efficiently explore thousands of simulated engagements to assess the potential benefits of NIFC-CA and identify robust CONOPS over a breadth of threats and conditions. In addition, this effort will improve OSM by adding new model objects and capabilities in new scenarios and providing a construct to help with OSM's verification, validation, and accreditation.
