Summary |
With the new emphasis on audit readiness, property management has become more important. DON must move beyond simply account for property to effective use of excess capacity, as is the trend in private industry. The goal of this study is to identify potential pilots to test and evaluate novel approaches to utilizing excess inventory including a study of such business disruptive business models as UBEr, Lyft, and Airbnb that create value in the private sector. The foundation of their business model centers on the effective use of excess inventory. This study seeks to answer: - How can DON make better use of excess resources? - What barriers exist to prevent better utilization of property and personnel? - What technologies including disruptive technologies could contribute to a more efficient use of excess resources? |
