Summary | This research proposes to extend our earlier 2010-2014 investigation into SE metrics (Applied Leading Indicators) and investigate how SE metrics and models may be applied to active programs of record at NAVAIR. This year the focus will shift somewhat to investigate how the application of System Definition Enabled Acquisition (SDEA) can provide insight into design maturity, as well as how the use of SDEA could be instituted. This research proposes to develop the SDEA concept and explore the SDEA tools and methods can be integrated into the NAVAIR engineering workflow. The SDEA goals are to provide early insight into the technical matters of a program and allow for early determination of technical issues, system design trade-offs, and gain a quantifiable understanding of and insight into the Integration and Interoperability issues between one system and another. |
