Summary In early 2008, Diagnostics/Retrieval Systems Incorporated (DRS) won a contract from the Army's Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) to increase border security for the Kingdom of Jordan. The Jordanians require a fully integrated end-to-end system to secure their borders along neighboring Israel, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the West Bank. The system uses Distant Sentry mobile and fixed surveillance towers that employ various Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS). When the system detects a possible target, a Quick Reaction Team (QRT) is sent to investigate the cause of the detection. DRS is also responsible for maintenance, logistics, and training for the system. The Jordon Border Security System (JBSS) is being tested by ATEC (Army Test and Evaluation Command). The primary objective of this work is to provide subject matter expertise in networking to ATEC in order to improve test and evaluation of the JBSS. A secondary objective is to identify future research opportunities to support improved test and evaluation in the future. The SME will identify required test configurations of the network and identify information elements to be utilized as metrics for network performance.
