Summary | This project will produce 10-15 samples suitable for transmission electron microscopy (TEM) from aluminum alloys. Specimen of Aluminum alloys will be provided by NSWCCD. We will use disk punching, grinding, and electro-polishing techniques to produce the foils. The FEI Osiris Transmission Electron Microscope will be used to verify the electron transparency and overall quality of the foils. The prepared TEM foils will be sent back to Dr. Kim Tran at NSWCD for detailed TEM analysis. |
