Summary The objective of this proposal is to develop coupled ensemble sea-floor environment and 6-DOF (CESE6D) model for assessing the environment and predicting the munition‘s mobility. Since munitions’ burial and mobility vary under various environment characteristics such as sediment types, sea floor morphology, and hydrodynamic conditions, timely prediction of sea-floor environment and munition‘s mobility including its location and burial is crucial to assess characteristics of munitions underwater and their environment. Furthermore, the proposed coupled ensemble model is computationally efficient to meet the requirement. The probability density functions of the munition’s burial and mobility will be the input to the Underwater Munitions Expert System (MR 19-1126).
