Summary | Officer students in the Space Systems Curricula fulfill degree requirements for a Master of Science degree in the department of their choice or in Space Systems Operations. A space-oriented thesis is required as well as additional courses to fulfill the requirements of a space billet. Officer graduates are prepared to manage the technical aspects of a space system life cycle including design, development, installation, and maintenance of spacecraft, space payloads, supporting earth stations, terminals, and cyber connectivity. The breadth and depth of studies is intended to enable Space Systems graduates to immediately provide value-added contributions to their postgraduate billets as part of the Space Cadre. The course of study also includes two experience tours to introduce students to military and contractor space facilities. In addition, laboratory facilities and engineering support are maintained to provide expertise during courses, specialized directed studies, and thesis research, allowing for more complex and relevant projects to be undertaken. |
