Summary	This proposed effort investigates the employment of large teams of unmanned systems (UxS), also termed UxS swarms, in offensive and defensive mission contexts relevant to the DoD, with an emphasis on expeditionary warfare. The objective of this study is the identification of swarm technologies, supporting infrastructure, and relevant expertise across government, academic, and industry research programs. This survey will include a review of currently available or emerging solutions to support field experimentation of such swarm capabilities in the near term. This research and development initiative provides a technical and operational perspective of the recent advances in UxS swarm systems, which will inform the generation of new concepts of operations and doctrine in potential UxS swarm deployment and employment in future expeditionary operations.
