The LDESP State Partnership program seminars support the objectives of the partnership between state and country and aims to help participants reach a shared understanding about joint objectives in the region
The State Partnership Program links a unique component of the Department of Defense, a state’s National Guard, with the armed forces or equivalent of a partner country in a cooperative, mutually beneficial relationship. The state partner opens doors for its partner country to the full depth and breadth of U.S. capabilities, assisting in the development of democratic institutions and open market economies, as well as generating interagency coordination, cooperation and enduring relationships.
The State Partnership Program seeks to align countries of interest with a state National Guard to build a relationship that enhances the country’s political, military, and socio-economic status, and creates opportunities for the National Guard to maintain readiness and relevance.
