Summary | This proposal is in response to a request for flight demonstration of an advanced new slew capability to improve the agility of a reaction wheel spacecraft. This capability has the potential to significantly enhance mission return by enabling collection and support activities that were previously not feasible. The effort leverages NPS’ expertise, analysis, tools and methods previously demonstrated on NASA’s International Space Station, the Transition Region and Coronal Explorer and on ground test simulators in Honeywell. Many missions can benefit from faster slewing, and the flight demonstration effort will advance the technology readiness level of rapid slew capabilities for future use. |
