Summary |
Lighthouse is a project focused on field data collection using commercial-off-the-shelf and open-source technology. Lighthouse has received considerable attention from the law enforcement community (http://lhproject.info/category/press/) who, in addition to user groups within DOD, seeks to better understand the human terrain in order to impact networks of interest, namely those engaged in illicit gang and drug activity. The application focuses on providing operators and analysts with better understanding of the socio-cultural environment through the collection of both attribute and relational data. Highly trained analysts using a combination of social network, geospatial, and temporal analysis taught and researched in the CORE Lab are provided tools to exploit this data in order to influence and disrupt these networks. The Lighthouse project will provide the following analytic training courses (dates TBD) to SPD officers and analysts for Social Network Analysis (SNA) Training, Geospatial/Temporal Analysis Training, and Social Media Exploitation Training. |
