Summary | In this project, we will assess the value of a specific method of creating effective teams using immersive virtual environments as learning platforms. The method builds on research in Language Action, developed at UC Berkeley by Dr. Fernando Flores. The programs developed by Dr. Flores have been assessed as valuable by many civilian leaders. Our goal is to evaluate potential for the Navy community and determine if we should develop a longer more extensive research program using Language Actiona and virtual environments to develop skills needed for teamwork. This program uses a specific course called "Working Effectively in Small Teams" (WEST) to train specific skills needed for developing trust, communicating effectively and mobilizing action. |
