Summary | Acquisition Research Program (ARP) focuses on the research component of acquisition topics applicable to all career fields that are used to increase the knowledge of the Acquisition Workforce. Students (40+ per year) and faculty perform research for the ARP on acquisition topics provided by Navy sponsors (DACM, SYSCOMs and PEOs) that give context to their academic curriculum and at the same time engages them in research on the acquisition challenges of the day. NPS will develop a conceptual system dynamics model of the capacity of DoN contracting workforce with a focus on the size and productivity of the workforce. The model will reflect the challenge of completing contracting requirements and the factors that impact the workforce's capacity. In collaboration with the DACM, the researcher will design a workshop that uses the model to educate selected contracting workforce leaders about the use of system dynamics to address DoN contracting workforce challenges and to investigate DoN contracting workforce issues with workshop participants. |
