Summary | This project explores and evaluates a currently available, virtual developmental training methodology to enhance the readiness and effectiveness of the Marine Reserve Component. The training develops the effectiveness of working in groups which in this case will be a Selected Marine Corps Reserve Unit at one Reserve Training Center. Marine Forces Reserve will select Reservists and Active Duty Inspector-Instructors to participate and expects the effort to significantly improve the Force's learning environment, the SMCR/1-1 relationship, and effectiveness within and of the unit. This unique experience leverages a commercial virtual world platform and will be prototyped and piloted as a key component of the USMC Reserves Training Curriculum. Participants engage in a 4-month Jong online training course designed to help them learn to navigate and work effectively across the disparate cultures within organizations. The course will complement existing and emerging parts of the training continuum . |
