Summary | The main objective for the current project is to develop and apply multiple criteria root cause analysis computational technique for improving design of 81 mm mortar prototype. The proposed computational analysis should help the design team (i) to identify the most probably causes of basecamp rotation that leads to loss of seal between basecamp and tub, (ii) to minimize likelihood of inducing other failure models, and (iii) to maximize success of designing solutions. The life test data will be the main source of information on sought of relationships for this study. If no conclusive recommendations could be derived out of observational data, the results should provide foundation for the root cause analysis based on the finite element model simulations. |
