Summary | This proposal is directed towards determining whether exothermic chemical energy released during the transit of hypervelocity long-rod aluminum penetrators through water and target impact is intense enough to contribute to terminal effectiveness. A reverse streamline flow model will be developed based on the results of gas-gun experiments, and 3D finite difference and chemical fluid dynamics simulations. |
