Summary	NPS is integrating approaches and models for describing impacts of the lower atmosphere on surveillance sensor performance over coastal regions. Longer near-horizon multi-sensor (radar and IR) detection and signature identification of surface threats are important to coast surveillance and are impacted by lower atmosphere and ocean surface features.
