Back Advanced Power Converters for Renewable Energy Interface

This project will focus on power converter topologies and the EMS (energy management system) to interface with PV (photovoltaic) sources, renewable sources and battery systems. The EMS developed at NPS (see Figure 1) will be used to interface the PV system to batteries and to the grid.
Additionally, different power converter topologies will be evaluated for their efficiency, reliability and cost effectiveness among other metrics to be determined. Management of energy storage (i.e. batteries) by the circuit topologies will also be studied as a means of system performance improvement.
