Summary | This project will analyze the impacts of U.S. military activity on counter-VEO (CVEO) activities in West Africa. The research team will collect and analyze data on U.S. military activities including but not limited to active CVEO operations, exercises, security force assistance/cooperation, and political-military engagements. It will develop a framework to assess the impacts of these activities on the capacity and effectiveness of CVEO operations conducted in the Sahel region (not including the Lake Chad Basin) by, and in concert with, European and African partners. The research team will apply this framework to assess U.S. contributions to CVEO outcomes in the region during the 2015-2020 time period. |
