Fiscal Year | 2013 |
Division | Graduate School of Operational & Information Sciences |
Department | Operations Research |
Investigator(s) | Shattuck, Nita L. |
Sponsor | Office of Naval Research (Navy) |
Summary | The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS; Shattuck) will contribute to the operational data collection of sleep, fatigue and other stressors onboard maritime platforms and simulated environments, conduct research to explain how human performance is affected by sleep and motion, investigate the interaction of fatigue and motion effects on human performance, evaluate how exposure to motion affects a variety of human performance parameters including marksmanship, obstacle course performance, and simple and complex tasks of reasoning and executive function. The data collected will be used to support the improvement of current shipboard manpower models, creating a physiologically based model that will more accurately depict the on board requirements based on various risk levels assumed by commanders. |
