Summary | We propose an initial study in hasty node authentication in NC3 ad hoc networks. In many ad hoc networks latency and link health cannot be assumed and the corresponding node authentication mechanisms must be designed appropriately. Specifically, we propose utilizing physical layer attributes to validate messages sent as authentic. By using these attributes for authentication, we negate the need for extended exchanges which otherwise establish authenticity and free up limited bandwidth for critical command and control. |
