Summary The proposed research will develop a modeling and simulation environment for comparative analysis of complex space architectures that include emerging capabilities such as refueling, on-orbit upgrade, orbit modification, and modularity. A project is proposed to develop the modeling framework, implement the core dynamics and control functions in the modeling software, and perform validation and case studies. The resulting simulation environment will assess the cost and value of various space architectures and mission parameters, informed by best practices in astrodynamics, proximity operations, and space traffic management.
