Summary The work carried out this summer, is in response to a request from PEO C4I to prepare for assisting PEO C4I in FY10 as C4I Chair at the Naval Postgraduate School in FY10, assisting PEO C4I will require: interfacing with PEO C4I on gathering potential theses, capstone projects, faculty research topics and circulating with the Naval Postgraduate School Schools, Departments, Institutes, Academic Groups and Research Centers. In addition, in FY10, workshops in the fall and spring quarter will be hosted at NPS to assist in circulating these topics, and a website will be hosted at NPS to also circulate these topics. In order to prepare for FY10 position of assisting PEO C4I, several visits to PEO C4I are required over the summer, along with attending a demonstration (requested by PEO C4I). The visits to PEO C4I over the summer will encompass, working closely with APEO for Science and Technology (S&T) and meeting with PEO C4I, Program Managers, Technical Directors, S&T, etc. to gather topics and discuss NPS research and curricula. The PEO C4I supported work will cover three trips to PEO C4I (one per month this summer) and one visit to the Empire Challenge demonstration in China Lake, labor for the trips will be covered as well as a few weeks of labor to carry out additional preparations. Additional preparations are: develop the Memorandum of Understanding for signature prior to October 2009, develop a detailed plan of action and milestones for FY10 and the rest of FY09, work with ITACS Business Solutions Group to develop a Website for hosting the C4I Chair information (accessible by NPS and PEO C4I, with various levels of access), work with NPS to schedule a workshop in the Fall Quarter of AY10, interact with NPS (Dean of Research) on getting up to speed with current research and curricula, develop matrix mapping between NPS and PEO C4I, and work with PEO C4I on gathering research topics (theses, capstone projects, faculty/labs research, etc.). The matrix mapping will take most of the labor and it will cover: working with APEO for S&T, create a first-pass matrix mapping between NPS and PEO C4I offices, where, on the NPS-Side: Per NPS Institution (i.e. Department, Institute, Research Center, Lab, etc.), a list of research, in the form of: theses, projects, capstone projects, dissertations for three temporal states: Yesterday (last 5 years), Today (Current), Tomorrow (next 5 years). In addition, on the PEO C4I-Side, per PMW Office, create a list of programs for three temporal states: Yesterday (last 5 years), Today (Current), Tomorrow (next 5 years). Once these lists are created, create a matrix mapping between NPS Institutions and PEO C4I PMW Offices that can be continually updated.
