Summary |
The Principal Investigators (PIs) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) will provide optimization support for the mathematical models used by Naval Supply Systems Command, Weapons Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Enterprise Resource Planning. Specifically, the PIs will provide support for wholesale inventory optimization model (WIOM), site demand-based inventory optimization model (SIOM), and readiness based sparing (RBS) optimization model(s). NPS PIs and personnel have been creating these models since Fiscal Year (FY) 2014. As WIOM and SIOM consolidate their proper functioning, it is anticipated that most of the effort will be devoted to finishing the formulation of the RBS (aviation) multi-indenture single-echelon model. It is essential that during FY2017 the PIs and NAVSUP consolidate a solid modeling foundation for RBS, with potential commencement of work on RBS (maritime), if time permits. |
