Summary | The objective of the project is to investigate application of wavefront correction using adaptive optics to improve the performance of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensors. For large field-of-view OPIR optics, field-dependent wavefront aberration will negatively affect the spatial registration and interpretation of the objects' shapes and locations. Wavefront correction using a deformable mirror in the optical payload optics can mitigate the effect of field-dependent wavefront aberrations. |
