Summary | The purpose of this project is to convene a workshop at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA between 5-7 March 2008. The workshop will work to support the development of the global futures estimate being produced by the central intelligence agency. The participants will explore several issues related to the current and future proliferation situation. For example, are we likely to see a nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons proliferation cascade in the next decade? What puts us at that the proliferation tippling point? What is the impact of globalization, especially the international diffusion of science and technology, on proliferation dynamics? Deliverables will include a short conference report and the papers and briefings delivered at the workshop. |
