Summary | The proposed work investigates the quality of service (QoS), unified signaling for seamless operation across heterogeneous networks, related call manager improvements and handoff procedures in Marine Corps' application of voice over IP (VOIP) in packet switched networks. The emphasis will be on methods for quality of service guarantees across multiple networks. Tradeoff between higher quality of service and increased signal compression and QoS-assisted voice compression schemes will be examined. |
