Summary We propose to conduct research and prepare an analytical history of the enterprise concept in the Navy with a focus on business management transformation, changes in business processes, and financial impacts. We will perform a literature review that addresses the theory and practice behind the enterprise concept and we will examine the original goals of Admirals Clark and Massenberg for Sea Enterprise and Naval Aviation Enterprise. We will trace the evolution of enterprise management and assess its impact on business operations and financial results. Our report will highlight aspects of Navy Enterprise that are particularly relevant for the future of Navy business transformation.
