Back Information Volume and Velocity (IV2) Joint Capability Technology Demonstration (JCTD) Independent Assessment
Fiscal Year | 2013 |
Division | Graduate School of Engineering & Applied Science |
Department | Systems Engineering |
Investigator(s) | Whitcomb, Clifford A. |
Sponsor | Office of the Secretary of Defense (DoD) |
Summary |
The IV2 JCTD will provide the Combatant Commands (COCOM), U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), and other participants a capability that enables predictive analysis based on data that is mined from all sources on the Internet, including tweets and blogs, using pattern recognition to detect trends in a sea of unstructured data. Pending successful assessment within the USAFRICOM area of responsibilities, the IV2 capabilities will be available for implementation at other COCOMs and Agencies. As the Independent Assessor (IA) agency appointed by the IV2 Operational Manager (OM), the Naval Postgraduate School will support the OM by developing the Independent Assessment Plan (IAP) and by supporting the Limited Operational Utility Assessment (LOUA) and OUA. NPS will develop performance measures that map to the appropriate operational and technical requirements, and will assess and report on the degree to which the IV2 solution is able to satisfy those requirements. |
