Summary | The primary goal of the research is to prepare and field a Multi-AUV collaborative navigation system for a September 2015 ONR demonstration. It will emphasize a Multi-AUV SLAM approach that will seek to minimize the number of GPS position fixes during a collaborative mine reconnaissance mission. The emphasis on producing a quality survey map while reducing the number of times the vehicle’s surface, provides a capability that is useful for tactical undersea operations, especially in confined and dynamic marine environments. |
