Summary |
This task for this statement of work will be to assist as a Program Manager. This entails coordinating with ONR and providing support to Technical Development Authorities, to oversee, manage, and provide scientific subject matter expertise to the research programs funded under the Office of Naval Research, Code 30, Human Performance, Training, and Education (HPT &E). Duties will include reviewing research in this science and technology (S&T) portfolio conducted in support of Small Unit Decision Making Training for the Marine Corps, making recommendations for integrating results, and revising as needed, and attending program reviews in support of this task. A second task will be to work with Naval Postgraduate School Marine Corps graduate students on thesis projects that are directly related to the HPT&E Program. This might include theses related to the Instructional Small Unit Leader Course. The overarching objective is to accelerate the Marine Corps capability for implementing battalion training for decision-making skills for squad leaders, i.e., typically a Sergeant. A new career path for Sergeants has been developed to take advantage of the expertise accrued during their first deployment. The idea is to place the Sergeant in a leadership role, as a team leader, where they are trained to share their deployment expertise. |
