Summary The cognitive environment for the Information Warfare (IW) watch floor is one of information overload, that can degrade performance especially in critical moments when top decision speed and performance are most important. Fusing diverse information sources in real-time to support effective decision should take into account the cognitive processing of the human in the loop. This research would develop a framework for identifying and evaluating multi-domain fusion opportunities. The framework will be built upon the decision science concept of value of information, as well as cognitive science on human performance. The result will include criteria and an outline of a process for identifying opportunities to fuse information and simplify /and streamline workflow to reduce cognitive load and improve and speed the ability to detect actionable information and frame decision space.
