Back A THz Micromagnetron
Fiscal Year | 2007 |
Division | Graduate School of Engineering & Applied Science |
Department | Physics |
Investigator(s) | Larraza, Andres |
Sponsor | National Science Foundation (NSF) |
Summary | The proposed research will investigate and develop MEMS based reverse-magnetron designs as sources of THz radiation, for applications in counter terrorism, specifically in the area of improvised explosive device detection. During the first year, theory, numerical simulations, and finite element modeling (using COMSOL) to characterize the suggested MEMS designs will be performed. In the second and third year, this research will also include experiments on prototypes of the proposed designs. |
