Summary | Develop a workshop which focuses on planning the effective application of military medical and logistics capabilities and resources in responding to a pandemic event and the disaster management implications for Lower Mekong Countries (LMC). Through scenarios, shared "best practices", and identification of gaps and seams the participants will establish the basis for practical cooperation. The primary objectives of the workshop include communication a common understanding of provincial, country and regional preparedness to respond to a pandemic event and the disaster management complexity that can be expected. Through the review of previously collected lesson learned and sharing of individual country armed forces "best practices" participants will recognize current gaps and seams and be able to discuss mitigations. This training will include affiliated civilian organizations on disaster management, preparedness and response, food and water safety, pandemic control, weather forecasting, search and rescue, and international aid distribution. |
