Summary | Studies of three different marine boundary layer processes are proposed here, using the NPS Twin Otter research aircraft. The first, involves observation and mapping of organized structures that have been observed within the turbulent boundary layer. The second is focused on fraction of the marine aerosol that is of biological origin. The question asked is whether these particles have different nucleation properties from the more abundant sea salt and sulfate particles. The third project studies how cloud dynamics are affected by off-shore flows when the land sourced air is mixing into the aged marine air. |
