Summary |
The work to be undertaken under this project will be a continuing effort to provide support to the Army on evaluating the return on investment of the Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness (CSF2) Program. The Army established the Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness Program to provide resilience education and training to soldiers, families, and Army civilians. Analysis of the CSF2 Program is being conducted by the Office of the Undersecretary of the Army (O/DUSA) Research Facilitation Team (RFT). The effort involves evaluating the effectiveness of CSF's resilience training. The Naval Postgraduate School, Graduate School of Business and Public Policy, will collaborate with RFT to provide data modeling and economic analysis of the CSF. Specifically, the proposed project has two parts: Part 1. Return on Investment. Based on methodologies developed and results from AY13, we will incorporate Master Resilience Training (MRT) as a key explanatory variable to our current analysis. Part 2. Additional health care cost estimation. Continuing the same analytical framework as the in current year's project, but we would examine the cost to the Army due to soldiers with low R/PH in the following areas: (1) Costs due to the increased usage of medical care while in theater; (2) Costs due to anxiety and substance use disorder. |
