Summary | Under this Distance Learning Certificate proposal, the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller)(OUSD(C)) will collaborate with the Naval Postgraduate School to initiate and execute a minimum of one cohort per year of the DoD Financial Management Graduate Certificate Program, Curriculum 196, starting in FY21. The objective is to provide a cost-effective method to provide financial management (FM) workforce members with the opportunity to earn a graduate-level certificate from an accredited university in support of the National Defense Strategy Line of Effort that entails achieving "full auditability of all its operations, improving its financial processes, systems, and tools to understand, manage, and improve cost." In addition, the DFMGCP will support DoD FM Community's strategic workforce objectives by leveraging existing NPS curricula and providing courses that are aligned with the Defense Financial Management Certification Program (DFMCP) and support two of the FM strategic themes by training and developing the workforce. |
