Summary This five day course provides participants with an in-depth study of the complex set of considerations inherent in defense resource management. The course places particular emphasis on the importance of both accountability and transparency as central characteristics of all public resource management and decision making systems. Course participants are engaged to make the best decisions under difficult circumstances. The context for all course topics is building and sustaining accountability in defense resource management systems and an examination of practical steps toward improving accountability in existing national level systems. Learning methodologies include lecture, open discussion, in class exercises and case studies. Improvement of defense acquisition management systems in the participant nation will enhance the U.S. Government's security sector objectives at the national and regional level. Additionally, this course will help build the intellectual capital of the Naval Postgraduate School faculty and students confirmed to support this effort. This course will be conducted in accordance with NETSAFA established MASL P309210, as concurred and approved by the Lebanese country team and CENTCOM, NETSAFA, etc.
